For the little things in life!
Ever thanked the cup of coffee that you sip in between your hectic work schedule? Ever felt grateful for waking up today with the same flexibility as yesterday? Ever honored the time spend with your friends and family? The list can go on and on. Been living in a world where everyone dreams of superiority and to hold to the ultimate of controlling the world, we often tend to forget how lucky we are to be able to do what are doing. There are days when you do not feel the way you want to feel or maybe you doubt yourself. Some of us just surrender to that emotion while others tend to work for it. They try to find the reason behind it. Ellen Hopkins rightly said, "Sometimes the little things in life mean the most." Don't you agree with her?
As a kid there must have been so many things you wanted to get hold of, you wanted to achieve. Today you might have accomplished all of them or maybe better than what you must have had in your mind? Still, you run behind things with a competitive mindset. You see your friend or cousin do something with a higher pay or at a higher position than you makes you feel less successful. Little do you realize what an achiever you are! You simply blindfold yourself and start making yourself feel a failure at life. In this process, you casually disregard your efforts and hardwork that you had put in grabbing the dreams to make yourself what you always had dreamt of. Ask a kid what he or she wants to become, and they will have temporary replies to it. Eventually, you tend to choose one path based on your capabilities and wish. You strive hard to achieve those, give your blood, sweat and tears to it. Still, you grumble. Instead, you should pat yourself for getting yourself high on energy and zeal when you were broken and stuck inside.
Start appreciating the little things in your life and prioritizing peace instead of choosing hustle bustle that life offers. You never know if all of those disappears on fine day and you wish you had expressed how grateful you were to that thing or that someone. Let yourself know that whatever you have decided for yourself is the best thing that can happen to you. Choose the people you want to be with. Just remember, if they come in way of your mental health and sanity then feel free to get disconnected. Unless you keep yourself on top of the list, you are going to loose your identity. Do things that make yourself your best friend and not an enemy.
